Keynote Speaker - Dr. Suzanne Harrison

Suzanne Harrison is a Professor at the School of Nursing at the Université de Moncton, where she has been a faculty member since 1997. She served as Director of the School from 2019 to 2025. Her research focuses on the health of Francophones in minority settings, workplace well-being, resilience, and the integration of technology in education.
She currently teaches Theories and Trends in Nursing and has previously taught pediatric nursing content as well as an undergraduate course on introduction to university studies in health. She integrates her research findings into her teaching to enhance student learning, using approaches such as portfolios, concept mapping, the SIMPLE method, and simulation.
Professor Harrison currently serves as President on two boards: nationally, with the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing, and provincially, with the Society for Francophone Health and Wellness. Prior to joining the CASN Board of Directors, she contributed extensively to the evaluation of nursing programs across Canada through her participation in multiple accreditation teams, frequently serving as team leader. In recognition of this work, she received the Wendy McBride Award in 2019.
Known for her dynamic and engaging approach, she is regularly invited to host conferences and facilitate workshops. Shortly, she will be undertaking a year-long sabbatical to explore the lived experiences of neurodiverse nursing students in Canada and faculty readiness to support and optimize their learning.
